In my recent article, The Seven Causes of Hair Loss, I detailed the causes of hair loss. There was such interest in this article that I realized that hair problems are causing a great deal of concern around the world.
In this article I would like to reveal a recipe for a hair shampoo and conditioner that will enhance your hair health.
Check your shampoo bottles and look at the cocktail of chemicals listed in the ingredients. Amongst those chemicals you will probably notice Sodium Laureth Sulphate or Sodium Lauryl Sulphate. Sodium Lauryl Sulphate is a chemical modification of Sodium Laureth Sulphate.
Sodium Laureth Sulphate is a surfactant – a substance that reduces the surface tension of a liquid so that it can foam or penetrate solids. It is not just an ingredient in shampoos and conditioners, it appears in toothpaste, shaving crème, bubble bath, washing detergent and cleansers – in fact anywhere where consumers love to see a good wholesome foam.
In garages, it is used to clean engine oil from the floor because of its powerful de-greasing action. However, we have glands in our skin and hair which secrete natural oils to give skin and hair its lovely soft and supple texture and keep it waterproof. So by using Sodium Laureth Sulphate in your hair care products you are stripping your hair of all its natural oils. Furthermore, 613 color wig it can lead to direct damage to the hair follicle, and if it gets into the eyes, can lead to permanent eye damage. Sodium Laureth Sulphate can cause cataracts in adult eyes and cause significant damage to children’s eyes.
It can pass through the skin where it enters the blood stream. From here it will travel all over the body. It can build up in the liver, kidneys and brain. The body tries to tuck dangerous toxins as far as possible away from internal organs as it can. Hence the body stores toxins in your feet, joints and even testicles. If Sodium Laureth Sulphate is such a great garage de-greaser, what damage could it be doing inside our bodies?
It is extremely difficult to find hair products without this ingredient. However, it is well worth searching for a Sodium Laureth Sulphate free shampoo if you have hair problems or you are concerned about your health and well being. If you can buy a base containing only natural ingredients, you can add your own extras to it to make an excellent shampoo and conditioner.
Kartouche Luxury Shampoo
200ml Shampoo base or Conditioner base
6 drops of rosemary essential oil
6 drops of ylang ylang essential oil
6 drops of frankincense essential oil
6 drops of sandalwood essential oil
4mls of Vitamin B Panthenol
2ml of Vitamin A
3ml of solubilizer
The solubilizer allows the essential oils to mix with water. You could find a natural solubilizer on the internet.
Mix the above together and put it in a plastic bottle. If you put it in a glass bottle there is a huge possibility that you will knock it over in the shower and smash it.
Another great conditioner which is a whole lot cheaper is a raw egg. I massage a raw egg into my hair and later wash it out with rosemary hydrosol. If you grow rosemary in your garden, boil up a large stem in water and then leave to cool. Poor the cool water over your hair whenever you wash your hair. You could also use cool rosemary tea. Rosemary water is a wonderful tonic for hair.
